The award was created 15 years ago to recognize companies that have contributed to the country's development by promoting productivity, innovation and competitiveness. Ingenio La Unión's nomination came through the Cámara del Agro.
A report was prepared and audited through a technical visit by INTECAP authorities, presenting La Unión's record among the leaders in sugar industry productivity, its innovation projects in the agricultural and industrial processes, and how these combine with human talent management in the learning area.
In the 15th edition of the award, among the twelve finalists from the country's different economic sectors, Ingenio La Unión was distinguished with the "Ricardo Castillo Sinibaldi" Productivity and Competitiveness Award for "its commitment to operational excellence in creating social, environmental, labor and economic value" that helps build a more prosperous country.
