IGSS Company Clinic

The Guatemalan Social Security Institute and Ingenio La Unión, S.A., in a public-private partnership, inaugurated the IGSS-Ingenio La Unión Clinic on Wednesday, October 25. Located at finca Belén inside the mill's premises, it safeguards the health of the company's employees. It is the first clinic under the new Health Management Model and provides the conditions needed for timely, quality care. It also strengthens the decentralization of the Social Security health services and optimizes both employees' effective time and the Institute's installed capacity.

The clinic holds the institutional authorization required to provide general medical consultations and laboratory tests (hematology, blood glucose, stool and urine, blood type, VDRL-syphilis, pregnancy tests and TB testing). It also has a pharmacy service with the medicines IGSS provides to its members, and follows up on the treatment of patients already under Social Security care.

The partnership benefits the mill's employees registered with the IGSS in Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, with prompt, personalized care, timely appointments, no long waits and access to the medicines provided by the Institute.
