Ingenio La Unión, S.A., has taken an active part as a generating agent in the national electricity market since June 1998.
The energy generated represents 10% of the total cogeneration in the Guatemalan market, and the company ranks fifth in installed capacity for sale among cogenerating mills.
In May 2018 we moved our energy injection to the South Pacific Ring 230 kV transmission system, connecting the generation plant to the National Interconnected System (SNI) through the La Unión 230 kV substation.
