This award is an initiative of Empresarios por la Educación (Business Owners for Education), together with universities, foundations, companies, individuals, development organizations, the media, international organizations, and the support of the Ministry of Education.

The award acknowledges the work of teachers and principals, as well as best practices in the classroom and in schools. It also motivates teachers and principals to continue doing a good job and contributes to systematize and share positive teaching experiences that may be replicated.

Laura Mixtún
2016 award recipient for her project “I read, learn, and grow”.
Her project was selected among the 10 best and most innovative projects nationwide; it seeks to make reading fun, regardless of age.

María José De León
2017 award recipient for her project “World numbers are learned through play”.
Her project uses a “learning suitcase” created from recycled materials to allow math problem solving using concrete materials. It also modeled work routines that favor children’s concentration, attention, and improvement of cognitive abilities.

Sandra Ache
2018 award recipient for her project “I discover my world by experimenting and creating”.
Her project was selected among the 10 best and most innovative projects nationwide; it helps students apply science to solve everyday problems.
